It's a three patch problem.

Noughts & Crosses (Noughts & Crosses Trilogy)

Noughts & Crosses (Noughts & Crosses Trilogy) - Malorie Blackman Completely heartbreaking from beginning to end.

Jackaby

Jackaby - William Ritter "Doctor Who meets Sherlock"

brb, gotta check that I haven't died and gone to heaven.

The Secret

The Secret - Rhonda Byrne I'm just going to say it: This is the worst book I have ever read.

I'm no expert on these types of books, it's definitely the first book I've ever read that fits into the "self help" category, but I hated it. Every page seemed like utter nonsense to me, and was overall a complete waste of time.

More Than This

More Than This - Patrick Ness 4.5 stars.

Crazy, confusing, and brilliant.

The One

The One - Kiera Cass 2.5 stars.

Despite being one of the most annoying, frustrating series I've ever read, it was JUST SO ADDICTING. I admit it, I couldn't stop reading.

I'm still very angry by every single thing that America did, thought, or said. She was stupid, and I really REALLY wanted to hit her multiple times throughout, but I'm pleased to have finished up the series.

Cat out of Hell

Cat out of Hell - Lynne Truss I received a free copy of this book through Goodreads First Reads!

I love the idea of evil talking cats, but maybe this book wasn’t quite to my humour. I didn’t really feel the ‘funny’ in it. I liked the book, I found it interesting, but I don’t think I got as much out of it as I was wanting. I thought the story was told in a really fascinating way (loved those screenplays!) and found the second half to be much more enjoyable, but I think my expectations were slightly too high. Perhaps I was expecting it to be a little more exciting than it turned out to be.

Vicious

Vicious - V.E. Schwab I LOVED THIS BOOK. REALLY LOVED IT. It was just perfect.

I don't even think I'm capable of writing a coherent review. This was everything I wanted it to be and more. The characters, the writing, the EVERYTHING... It all had me completely hooked and loving every single page.

Seriously, this is my kind of story. I'd give it 10 stars if I could.

I Wrote This For You: Just the Words

I Wrote This For You: Just the Words - pleasefindthis This is the sort of book that you can't really review. What you take out of these words is entirely up to you, nobody can read it in the way you can. Personally, this was everything I needed to read. And no doubt it'll be something I go back to, time and time again.

Fangirl

Fangirl - Rainbow Rowell Never have I identified more with a character than I do with Cath. The fangirl life is something I have been a part of for a long, long time, and I wouldn't know who I'd be today without it. Granted, I don't write nor read fanfiction, but I appreciate that it's something that so many of us do actually enjoy in their spare time.

I've seen a lot of people get irritated with Caths behaviour, saying that she should have just "done things" without complaining or shutting herself in her room, but I though she was so real. Social anxiety isn't something that is easy to live with. You can't "just do things". What I enjoyed most was that it wasn't about curing the social anxiety, but it was about living with it. Cath wasn't anything but herself, and I thought she was a very real representation of what it's like to a fangirl with social anxiety. Because, hey, that's me!

The snippets of fanfiction were okay. I didn't love them, but I didn't mind that they were there. And, by the end of it, I also found myself shipping Baz and Simon (thanks, Cath!).

Ahhh. Basically, I loved this. Instant favourite.

Allegiant

Allegiant - Veronica Roth Feels. So many feels.

I don't even know what else to say.
That's just it, that's my review. ALL THE FEELS!

Some of my book purchases this month. Since taking this picture I have bought another 5 books. This is getting out of hand. I've spent so much money on books this month when I already own most of these on my kindle. But, y'know, they're pretty to look at too...

Bought myself a used hardback copy of Cloud Atlas. Now I own two copies! My other is a flipback. All I need is a paperback to complete my collection because damn I love this book and I NEED TO OWN ALL THE COPIES.

The Shadow Year - Hannah Richell Received news that I've amazingly won this book through the First Reads giveaway! Looking forward to it arriving.

The Passage

The Passage - Justin Cronin I was really hoping to like this book more than I did. For me, it started off strong and I was instantly hooked, wanting to know more about the characters and what was happening. After about 30% through it abruptly stopped and introduced a second part to the story, and this was when it started to drag for me. I just couldn't get into it anymore.

Slowly, I kept on reading it. Admittedly I can't recall anything that happened in the middle section, because it was so dull and boring. My eyes started to skim the words rather than take them in, and I still don't think I missed anything important. I'm pretty sure you could take out the entire middle part and it wouldn't make any difference at all. Probably would improve it!

Every now and again the story would pick up, only to stop at the end of a chapter and fetch back a different character into the story whilst abandoning what was actually getting rather interesting. I was so confused with all the characters too, there were just too many to keep up with.

Overall I'm glad I finished it, but it was much too descriptive and long for my liking.
